Scratch Jr. Extension

We’ve already done an introduction to Scratch Jr. Today, we’re going to build on our initial programming. First, we’ll review programming Scratch Cat to dance. Then, we’re going to add a second character to the program. We’ll explore some of the other commands or instructions that we can use in Scratch Jr., and if we have time, we’ll try a few challenges.

Things that we’d like to learn how to do today:

• Add new characters
• Create infinite loops
• Create loops that repeat a number of times
• How to speed up or slow down characters
• How to grow and shrink characters

Possible challenges

• Have characters race all the way across the screen
• Have a character do one full spin
• Have a character grow as big as they can, then shrink back down
